When you think of lipsticks, the first thing that pops into anyone’s mind, is the famous, worldwide, always in demand, Kylie Jenner Lip Kits!

It is the most sought-after product from Kylie Cosmetics, as they are incredibly difficult to get your hands on – they sell out in minutes! Speaking as one of the lucky people in possession of her coveted lip kits, once you have one, you can’t stop, it’s an obsession!

I currently own five of the Kylie Jenner liquid matte lip kits, as shown in the first picture. One metallic matte lipstick and one velvet liquid lipstick in the second picture. One of her holiday edition set of 6 miniature liquid matte lipsticks, shown in the third picture (although I am missing the shade, Moon L) and also one of her shimmering Kylighters.

Going from left to right, across all three pictures, the shades are: True Brown K, Candy K, Posie K, Mary Jo K, Merry, Reign, Rosie, Angel, Kristen, Ginger, Love Bite, Vixen

My two favourite shades are Ginger, described as “a warm terracotta brown,” which is a perfect nude colour for my skin tone, and Kristen, named after their momager Kris. It is described as “a warm brown berry” colour and is a lovely pink shade on me, but the lipstick shades come out differently on different skin tones.

As we do not live in a perfect world, there are pros and cons about everything, so here are my pros and cons for the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits:

PROS:

Variety – Since the start of Kylie Cosmetics, there have been over 30 shades of liquid lipsticks, all including mattes, glosses, metallic mattes, and velvets.

Application – The application wand is easy to use and precise, even without the lip liner. Just one application is needed as enough lipstick is picked up by the applicator wand.

Formula – The lipstick is very pigmented, so no need to go over the lipstick after the first application. The lipstick is also lightweight and smooth, not flaky or sticky and the velvets, glosses and metallic mattes are non-drying.

Longevity – the liquid mattes and metallic mattes stay on for up to 6-8 hours so long-lasting. It also stays on even after food, a lit bit came off when drinking hot drinks or eating foods that have soup. However, only a little came off, so I could still continue and not reapply.

Lip liners – the lip liners have a creamy, non-drying texture, which is perfect for matte lipsticks and helps a great deal with the longevity of the lipstick.

Removal – easy to remove, although it is very good at staying on throughout eating.

CONS:

Formula – The liquid mattes are a bit drying, but can be solved by applying lip balm, such as Vaseline, after exfoliating the lips, then using the lip liner before the matte lipstick. I do this before using any lipstick, but this helps to keep the lips from drying with the liquid mattes.

Longevity – The velvets and glosses are not quite as good as lasting as the matte lipsticks, as they came off when eating, and would need to be reapplied after eating.

Lip Liners – I prefer lip liners that are retractable, which is not the case for the Kylie Jenner lip liners. The plastic around the lip liner is difficult to sharpen as it breaks off into little pieces.

Availability – All Kylie Cosmetics products are only from America, so can be difficult to order from abroad as it does not deliver to all countries, and as said before, are sold within minutes. There is also the problem of time differences because for me to be at the ready to order, 3 pm PST is 11 pm GMT in England.

Overall, I love the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits. I know they are a bit pricey, however, there are more than plenty of beautiful shades to choose from that suits everyone, it doesn’t even feel like you are wearing lipstick at all, and they last forever. Expect me to be first in the line of her next re-stock!
