Beauty Review: Makeup Brush Set

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post by Tosave!

I have seen quite a few unique designs of makeup brushes from rose shaped handles inspired by the film Beauty and the Beast which came out in March. I came across the mermaid tail handle which I knew I had to try out. So I will be reviewing 10pcs Mermaid Fish Tail Blusher Foundation Eyeshadow Eye Makeup Brushes Set. The brushes came in a clear bag packaging and each of the brushes was individually wrapped. This is what the brushes look like.

The brushes came in a pack of 10 brushes altogether. On the website, it doesn’t specify which brush is for what but you can easily tell by the shape, on the website it says

” Used for eyebrows, eyelashes, eyes and cheeks, Conclear makeup.”

 In the set it has:

  • Eyeliner brush (straight angle)
  • Blush brush
  • Eyeshadow brush
  • Contour brush (angled)
  • Concealer brush
  • Powder brush
  • Foundation brush (densely packed bristles and flat)
  • Blending brush
  • Eyebrow brush
  • Highlighter brush

The materials that these brushes are made of are plastic handle, Aluminium Tube, Nylon hair. The brushes felt very light and there were no fraying of the bristles on the brushes.

When I tried the brushes they felt quite soft to the face. Some brushes were better than others in terms of the amount of product that is picked up. So starting with the eyeliner and the eyebrow brush, personally I much prefer my brush to be super thin as I like to have precision when doing my liner and brows. The blush brush did pick up some product but it may just be because the blush I use is quite compact. It would work better for almost loose powder blushes. The eyeshadow brush felt like a typical eyeshadow brush, works just like any eyeshadow brush. Works best when you apply eyeshadow below the crease cut. The contour brush worked as it should do, however personally I prefer my brushes to be a little bit more densely packed. The concealer, foundation and powder brushes all worked very well just like a typical brush. Next, is my favourite brush which is the blending brush! It picks up a lot of product which you can easily blend out. Lastly, the highlighter brush was good, it did pick up a good amount of product but it could be better with more bristles to get more product as we all love to highlight!

Overall thoughts on this product are that it has a good set of makeup brushes, all which you can use for your daily makeup. The design of the handles is unique and fun! As for the brushes themselves, they are a good quality! If you were interested in purchasing them yourself, they retail for £7.48, click here for the link.
