Review: Makeup Essential Oil

Tosave is very similar as to how eBay and Amazon work. Shipping costs can vary depending on the country you live in and when it gets delivered to you also depends on the country you live in.

To get started an item I chose from Tosave was a makeup essential oil, it retails for £3.41. I have seen many Instagrammers and YouTubers use oils on their faces as part of their skincare routine. I wanted to try one for myself so I chose the 24k Rose Gold Skin Makeup Essential Oil. Interestingly, this does have the 24k Gold that it claims to have. I received the delivery around 2 1/2 weeks.

This is what the packaging looks like. It has a very clean and neat design. I love the minimalistic look it has. As I mentioned earlier this product does have gold inside and this is what it looks like.

Here is some information about the product and what it claims to do.

  • Add moisture to the skin helping to improve dry skin.
  • Has a lasting moisture.
  • The fine texture of the oil allows the skin to absorb the oil.
  • Lets makeup show better.
  • Used for moisturising or can be used with makeup for a luminous finish.
  • Reduce the appearance of fine lines, hyperpigmentation and stretch marks.

Just a little background on my skin, it is a combination of dry and oily. My T zone is prone to getting oily and then the rest of my face especially my cheeks get very dry, especially during cold season.

Before using the oil there is a noticeable scent, it has quite a citrus scent like oranges. The scent isn’t strong but if you don’t like that kind of scent then you may not like it. As I apply the oil on to my face one or two drops is more than enough for an area on my face. So I placed the oil on my cheeks and forehead. It does run quickly so the faster you work with it the better. I noticed that the scent was very minimal, it did feel a little bit oily but it doesn’t feel sticky at all. For an oil, it definitely feels lightweight. Also, there was a hint of shimmer across my whole face probably from the gold.  If you were to use this oil alone as a moisturiser, I would say this was pretty good. My skin felt nice and smooth, especially my dryer areas.

I wanted to test out how it would be like when I apply makeup, so that’s exactly what I did next. I applied my foundation and concealer before powdering and my face still didn’t feel heavy at all. When I started to powder my foundation did matte down but my face had this nice dewy and healthy look. After I finished my makeup this is what it looked like.

I would say my skin never looked better and I would definitely recommend it to everyone who wants to get that dewy look or just wants a good oil moisturiser that is inexpensive. It does what it claims to do, this is my first impression of the product so it’s been very good. I would say that I only used a couple of drops and it’s a 15ml bottle, so it will last me a very long time.
